Candied Pecans to Sweeten Your January (and Your Life)

Candied Pecans to Sweeten Your January (and Your Life)

So it’s January 2025. Everyone’s buzzing with New Year’s resolutions, right? But this year, I’m skipping the classic “new me” energy. Instead, I’m trying something way more fun (and, honestly, more my style): a bingo card of goals. Yes, a bingo card! Here’s how it works: I list out all the things I want to accomplish this year—big or small—and pop them into bingo card squares. There’s a free space in the middle (because, duh, we all deserve a little grace), and when I complete a row, diagonal, or four corners, I reward myself. It’s a task list with a twist and way more satisfying than making a vague promise to “be healthier.”

But hey, if you’re on the resolution train, I see you. I hope you crush every goal you set for yourself this year. That said, if your resolution includes not eating delicious snacks… well, I might be about to tempt you. Let me introduce you to Candied Pecans featuring A Sprinkle of Spice.

Healthy-ish, Totally Snackable Pecans

Before you roll your eyes and think, “But candied pecans aren’t healthy,” hear me out. Pecans are a powerhouse of heart-healthy fats, protein, and fiber. They help keep you full longer, and paired with our Tasty Tin A Sprinkle of Spice blend, they pack a punch of flavor with just a hint of sweetness. Sure, we use a touch of brown sugar, but life’s all about balance, right? Want to adjust for your macros? Swap out the sugar for agave, monk fruit, or your go-to sweetener.

How This Recipe Came to Life

If you stopped by one of our Tasty Tin tables during the holiday season, you might’ve grabbed a sample of these candied pecans. Truth be told, I whipped them up as an easy, snackable way to showcase our blends during the chaos of the holidays. While I usually prefer showcasing our blends on proteins or veggies, the season called for something quick, simple, and shareable—and this recipe delivered.

Let me tell you, these pecans were the MVP of my table. People kept coming back for seconds (and thirds). Even my husband, who’s not a huge snacker, couldn’t resist. But fair warning: If you make these, you might need to hide the jar. They’re that good.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Only 5 ingredients: Pecans, A Sprinkle of Spice, brown sugar, water, and vanilla bean paste.
  • Ready in 5 minutes on the stovetop.
  • Perfect for any nut—almonds, walnuts, macadamias, hazelnuts… they all work.
  • Versatile: Use them to:
  • Top a salad or soup.
  • Garnish ice cream or smoothie bowls.
  • Snack straight from the jar (no judgment).

The Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raw pecan halves
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon A Sprinkle of Spice (or more if you’re feeling bold!)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir constantly to keep the sugar from burning, until the sugar melts and coats the pecans evenly (about 3–4 minutes).
  3. Lay the pecans out on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Let them cool and harden for about an hour.
  5. Store in an airtight jar for up to a week—if they last that long!

Snack, Share, or Get Creative

The beauty of these candied pecans is how versatile they are. Put them in a bowl for guests during football season, chop them up to sprinkle on a salad or soup, or use them to top your favorite dessert. (Ice cream sundae with candied pecans? Yes, please.)
