The addition of sausage to shrimp and grits adds a wonderful flavor to this southern dish. Use the freshest wild shrimp you can find!

Ingredients
-
1 tbsp oil (canola or grapeseed)
-
1 lb fresh shrimp (16/20ct) peeled & deveined
-
½ lb loose sausage (andouille or chorizo preferred)
-
2 tbsp chopped garlic
-
1 tsp Tasty Tin® Spicy Garlic Dust
-
½ tsp smoked paprika
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1 lemon
-
flat leaf parsely
-
1 cup grits, cooked to your liking
Directions
Cook your grits according to the package directions. I like to cook mine in homemade chicken broth and add shredded cheese for extra flavor.
Heat oil in a large saute pan on medium heat. Add sausage to the pan, breaking up into bitesized pieces.
Once the sausage is cooked through add shrimp, garlic, spicy garlic dust, paprika and zest from the lemon
Saute for approximately 2 minutes.Turn off the heat and add juice from the lemon and butter. Stir so the butter will slowly melt into a sauce.
Sprinkle with parsley and serve over warm grits
