Blueberry & Basil Lemonade

DifficultyBeginner

Spring is here and lemonade is the best! Add strawberries, basil, blueberries, mint, blackberries or any of your favorite fruit or herb flavors! You can't go wrong. And remember to taste as you go so you can make it as sweet or as tart or as watered down as you like.

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
 2 cups sugar
 4 cups water
 1 pt blueberries
 1 handful of fresh basil

1

In a mortal and pestle, muddle half of your basil leaves with 2 TBSP of sugar. You want the oils to release from the leaves.

2

Add in 1/4 of your blueberries to the muddled basil leaves. Mix together to allow the flavors to blend.

3

Mix basil and blueberry mixture with 1 cup of water.

4

In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice and sugar. Mix to dissolve. Add blueberry and basil mixture and the rest of the water. Stir well.

5

Top with the rest of your blueberries and basil. Keep in the fridge until cold.
